Are there any?
I don't think that being a parent or a teacher makes you any better or worse at being the other. However, I do have a better understanding of the parents' perspective.
So, back to the original question: Are there any differences between parenting and teaching?

I have to agree that being one doesn't make me better at the other. I can relate better to parents now that I have kids. They don't see me as someone telling them something when I never have experienced it. I do think it makes me feel more guilty when I do wrong as a parent, as we all sometimes do, when I know better!
